Feeling a little frazzled??? March 20, 2008
Ok, ladies, after some research and input from someone who has been through a lot of these studies, I came across The Frazzled Female by Cindi Wood. I emailed Ben Atkinson today about the church helping us out a bit with the cost. He is going to order 12 books for us, and I have the following ladies so far: Diane, Kim, Jennifer, Nikki, Kimberly, Anne, Tanya, & me. That leaves 4 more books in his initial order, and if we can add more if needed. The books will cost $8 each.
So when will we meet? Well, Thursdays & Wednesdays are out. My suggestion is every other Tuesday night starting at 7:00 & dismissing at 8:30, no matter what! We can rotate houses if y’all want or go to the same place every time. This particular study has 6 weeks of lessons, so doing it every other week, it would be a 3 month commitment. We can then reevaluate the time, the place, the study, the everything before starting a new study.
If this sounds like a good time & a good idea, or you have a different idea for us to throw around, leave a message or send me an email. If I left your name off the list of interested ladies, I AM SO SORRY! I must have accidentally deleted your email, so please, please, please, let me know again that you are on board. We have room for anyone who desires to grow closer to God and each other. Feel free to include a friend…
Ladies Night Out – April 10th March 4, 2008
Questions to get you thinking… March 4, 2008
1.) How much time do I spend each day in God’s Word?
___ Less than one TV show
___ Less than a commercial
___ None
___ An adequate amount to quakeproof my life
2.) Do I spend more time absorbing the ways of this world than I spend in the Bible? __ Yes ___ No
3.) Do I know the Word – do I aspire to study it from cover to cover? ___ Yes ___ No
4.) Do I regularly memorize God’s Word? ___ Yes ___ No
5.) Am I quake-proofing my life by building it on the solid foundation of God’s Holy Word? ___ Yes ___ No
6.) Am I sharing God’s Word with others so they too can quake-proof their lives and avoid disaster? ___ Yes ___ No
These questions are from the last series we completed in Sunday School on life’s earthquakes, and they got me thinking. It’s really hard isn’t it, balancing being a mom, a wife, a friend, an employee, a sister, a daughter, and the many other roles we find ourselves fulfilling every day, even without the unexpected earthquakes that pop up along the way? What seems to be even harder is to find a moment to squeeze in a prayer, much less real time in God’s word. We know what we should do, but finding the time to do it and process it is often a challenge.
I would really like to start a Bible study for the girls only. I know that our time is precious and another thing is difficult to squeeze into our schedules, but I firmly believe that we can offer something to each other through sharing our faith & fumbles with each other in Bible Study, prayer, & fellowship. I was thinking once or twice a month, starting around 7:00 to allow us to take care of bellies and baths, leaving Daddies only bedtimes to handle. We could do it at a different house everytime or find a host house for each time, and maybe rotate on snacks or desserts each time. The night would be whatever fit the schedule of the majority. And of course, this is open to anyone, not just the ladies of the iLife Class.
So are you interested? Email me at aprildeloach@hotmail.com or leave a comment here if you think this would meet a need for you or someone you love.
